JOB OVERVIEW AND OPPORTUNITIES
This dynamic position will supervise all areas of the Fernson Brewing Company downtown taproom as well as work closely with culinary, marketing, sales, and production staff. The ideal candidate loves providing guests with an amazing experience, is extremely organized and detail oriented, and is responsible as well as hard working. The position will be full time with required hours on nights and weekends.
The FOH Manager is primarily responsible for supervising and directing the taproom team. The FOH manager will also be responsible for coordinating inventory with brewery production workers, executing a variety of events throughout the year, and assisting in the strategic planning and budgeting for the taproom. Particular focus will be on ordering/rotating inventory correctly and on completing a thorough month-end inventory.
The chosen applicant will also be responsible for the upkeep of the taproom, tend the bar in the taproom, and make retail sales during open taproom hours. Success in this position will be founded in the attention to the guest experience when visiting Fernson Downtown. Candidate must be a self-motivated individual, who executes at a high level and is capable of collaborating with multiple work groups and can successfully multitask.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire, train, and manage taproom staff
Oversee taproom operations and profitability: Report weekly to company Co-CEOs
Constantly seek to improve on the customer experience, pushing the company closer to its vision of “The most impactful beer experience on earth.”
Maintain a clean, friendly and welcoming environment for all guests at all times.
Manage inventory; communicate beer and merchandise needs to keep a full stock of each.
Complete weekly and monthly inventory tasks for the production team.
Manage the coordination for all special events hosted in the taproom while keeping a calendar of booked events.
Create and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for reordering needs and inventory stock levels
Manage daily quality metrics to ensure the optimal guest experience for Fernson guests
Develop a beer server training program and lead all Day One onboarding/training for new hires
Engage guests, assisting in taproom sales and answering questions
Ideate proactively, managing the execution of taproom improvements
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Hospitality experience is required
Previous brewery, restaurant, or craft beer experience preferred
Retail experience preferred - both back and front of house experience
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Ability to move kegs up to 150 lbs. and operate a hand truck
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
A strong desire to collaboratively lead the direction of the taproom experience while staying up to date on market and industry trends and opportunities.
Knowledge of and interest in the craft beer industry
Proven success in a retail environment
Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the general public.
Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multitask. The ability to think on your feet and adapt, flexibility is key.
Strict attention to detail.
Advanced computer literacy - excel, word, email, square, etc.
Events planning and coordination experience
Time management and schedule management
